To honor outstanding business leaders and inspire more enterprises to contribute to the province’s high-quality development, the Jiangsu Provincial Government recently recognized 100 Outstanding Entrepreneurs of Jiangsu Province. Mr. Xu Xinjian, Chairman of SolarEast Group, was among the recipients.
In 1999, Mr. Xu launched his clean energy journey with a 200,000 RMB loan and founded the Sunrain brand. In 2000, he created Micoe to meet new market demands. Under his leadership, the two brands grew to become household names in China’s solar thermal industry. On May 21, 2012, SolarEast was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange Main Board, becoming the first solar thermal company in China to go public.

Its solar thermal innovations earned the First Prize for Science and Technology Progress from the China Renewable Energy Society, while its air source heat pump technologies won the First Prize for Technical Invention from the China Refrigeration Society.
In recognition of these achievements, SolarEast was honored with the Second Prize of the 2023 National Science and Technology Progress Award for its breakthroughs in ultra-low energy building technologies in extreme climate regions.

Beyond business and technology, Mr. Xu has always emphasized social responsibility. In 2009, SolarEast established the Sunrain Charity Foundation, the first industry-specific open-end non-profit fund, with an initial investment of 10 million RMB. The foundation launched key projects such as:

By the end of 2022, SolarEast had donated more than 50 million RMB in funds and goods. In 2016, Micoe also co-launched the Micoe Care Fund with the China Women’s Development Foundation to support rural women, education, solar poverty relief, and more.
