On June 24, 2024, SolarEast was honored with the Second Prize of the 2023 National Science and Technology Progress Award, one of the most prestigious science and innovation awards jointly issued by the State Council and the Ministry of Science and Technology of China.
The award recognizes the project titled “Key Technologies and Applications of Ultra-Low Energy Buildings in Extreme Climate Regions”, collaboratively developed by SolarEast, Xi’an University of Architecture and Technology, Beijing University of Technology, and the PLA 91053 Troop. The research addressed core challenges in building energy systems across extreme environments like the South China Sea islands and the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau, where traditional HVAC solutions face limitations.
Over two decades of rigorous R&D, the team developed an advanced parametric design system and pioneering theories on energy-efficient construction tailored for humid heat and high-altitude cold regions. This breakthrough has been applied in:
1.52 million m² of demonstration buildings
Over 10 million m² of extended applications across China
Annual CO₂ reductions exceeding 200,000 tons
This national-level recognition not only reflects SolarEast’s technical excellence in sustainable construction but also highlights its commitment to China’s dual-carbon goals and rural revitalization.
As a national clean energy leader, SolarEast hosts the industry’s only National Enterprise Technology Center for solar thermal applications, a CNAS-certified laboratory, and a national postdoctoral research station. The company has led or participated in over 30 national standards, undertaken multiple "13th and 14th Five-Year" key projects, and received awards including:
First Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress in Renewable Energy
First Prize for Technological Invention in Air Source Heat Pumps
